About Senior Pup Mobility

Updated October 2026

Hi — I'm a fellow senior-dog mom.

This site exists because of Biscuit, the senior golden retriever in the photo at the top of our homepage — gray muzzle, green bandana, and a firm belief that every floor in the house is hers. Watching her slow down changed how I saw everything: the hesitant pause before the stairs, the back legs slipping on the kitchen tile, the bed she'd circle three times before trusting it with her weight. If you've watched your own dog do any of that, you're in the right place.

Senior Pup Mobility is where I work through the questions that come with this stage of a dog's life: Which bed actually supports arthritic hips? Is a ramp better than a harness for our car? Do any of these supplements have real evidence behind them, or is it all marketing? Every guide here starts with those questions and answers them the same way — by comparing what's actually available, reading the research where research exists, and being honest about the limits of both.

How our picks are chosen

There's no sponsored placement and no pay-to-rank. Each guide compares products on the criteria that matter for older dogs — support, stability, fit, ease of cleaning, and honest value — and says plainly who a product is not right for. Where evidence is mixed (joint supplements are the big one), the guide says so. Where the right answer is "talk to your vet first," the guide says that too. We're not veterinarians, and nothing here replaces advice from your dog's vet — we focus on equipment and daily-life adjustments, not medical treatment.

Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you buy — at no extra cost to you — and our disclosure page explains exactly how that works. It never changes which products we recommend.
